There are not many bikes which can compare to the Road King both in style or comfort. This bike truly is designed for exploration and spontaneous living. Since 1957 Harley Davidson have been produced a motorcycle titled the Sportster, yet it was not until 1986 that the first Harley 883 rolled off of their production line. The launching of the new Harley Davidson Nightster XL 1200 make a burst of adrenalin for Harley Davidson sportster motorcycles, with a perfect combination of exceptional performance, unique design and low chassis, urban feel offering a hot ride for street. The XL1200N Nightster adds another exiting option to the sportster family. Constructed with a blending a low seat height, mid mount controls and the powerful torque of the rubber mounted evolution V-Twin Engine.

“The Harley Davidson Nightster XL 1200 is a blacked out street bike that continues a half century of Sportster tradition of innovative, fun and versatile motorcycles,” said Bill Davidson, Harley Davidson Director of Motorcycle Product Development. “With loads of truly select features and components, the Nightster takes all the enhancements made to the Sportster family in recent years to an entirely different level.”

The mood gets drastically darker on this new Sportster, as the Harley Davidson Nightster XL 1200 features a host of black components. Black wheel rims and hubs contrast with chrome spokes, while the front forks and clamp, headlight cover, handlebar, levers, turn signals and air cleaner insert are all finished in black. The rear belt guard and front fender clamps are also black, but are opened up with a bullet hole pattern. The rear fender is cut back to show more of the rear tire. The back of the Harley Davidson Nightster rides without a separate tail light, as that feature is integrated with the rear turn signals.

Taking the latest Sportster design for a ride into the past, the Harley Davidson Nightster features a side mounted license plate holder and front fork gaiters. While the side mount license plate is a street design cue, the fork gaiters are a retro component that can help protect the fork seals from dirt and debris.

The Nightster rides smoothly with a 1200cc Evolution engine, which features a new Medium Gray finish with polished and black treatments. The transmission and airbox cover also sport the new finish. The Evolution engine provides a responsive throttle and high performance, while the integrated transmission has quietly meshing helical cut gears and lightweight dog rings that reduce shift effort.

Like all 2007 Sportsters, the Nightster has Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), reduced clutch lever effort, redesigned gauges, high performance carbon fiber belts and improved front brake lever effort.

As part of the original Harley Davidson hot rod motorcycle family, the Nightster has a design refined from the racetrack to the street that is primed for customized creativity.

The Harley Davidson Nightster is available in Vivid Black, as well as four two tone paint schemes with a unique Harley Davidson fuel tank graphic. The fuel cap, headlamp trim ring and oil dipstick cover are coated in a new Silver Satin finish. The Nightster is offered only in North American markets.

Harley Davidson Trike will offer two models on its three-wheel. Trike motorcycle platform for 2010, as the new Street Glide Trike joins the Tri Glide Ultra Classic. As its name implies, the Street Glide Trike brings the lean, stripped down, hot rod styling of the two wheeled Street Glide model to the three wheel category. With a smoked mini wind deflector and no Tour Pak luggage carrier, the Street Glide Trike is lighter and more compact than the Tri Glide Ultra Classic.

With its Trike platform, Harley Davidson brings original equipment design, quality and service to the three wheel motorcycle segment. Both Trike models utilize a frame and associated chassis structure and geometry engineered specifically to handle the loads generated by the steering forces and weight of a three wheel vehicle. The rear axle assembly utilizes an aluminum center section with steel axle tubes. Dual front disc brakes are complemented by a Hayes Brake dual disc rear brake system with a lever actuated, integrated parking brake.

Both the Street Glide Trike and the Tri Glide Ultra Classic models are powered by a rubber mounted, Twin Cam 103 V-Twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), rated at 101 ft. lbs. of torque. The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission features a new helical cut fifth gear. An optional electric reverse ($1,195) is integrated with the rear differential assembly and engaged with a handlebar-mounted control with LED indicator.

The molded composite Trike bodywork is a perfect color match for the tank and front fender. Because the rear fenders are each a separate piece from the rest of the rear bodywork, they can be removed individually for repair, replacement or service. The trunk provides 4.3 cubic feet of storage space and 50 pound capacity. Matching black and machined split seven spoke cast aluminum wheels provide an integrated, factory built look.

Street Glide Trike Features

• The signature Harley Davidson “batwing” fork mounted fairing has a smoked mini wind deflector. Mirrors are mounted to the fairing.
• Streamliner footboards, brake pedal and passenger floorboards feature full chrome pans and three chrome bands inset in the rubber surface.
